Winfield Township Open House

The first full week in March is designated as "Local Government Week" in Illinois by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. Last year Winfield Township participated in the event with an Open House at our office located at 130 Arbor Avenue where residents were invited to come see the office, meet the elected officials and office staff, and ask questions and/or bring their concerns. Snacks were served.

This year Winfield Township will again host an Open House, which is on Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Winfield Township Road District Office located at 30W575 Roosevelt Road, West Chicago, IL, which is on the southeast corner of Roosevelt Road and Town Rd. Snacks and hot dogs will be served, while the supply lasts. Come share a snack with your neighbors, the elected officials and office staff.

There will be tours of the office and garage, as well as some of the equipment. The elected officials and office staff will be on hand to answer your questions. Come enter for a door prize drawing.

During the Open House we will again be collecting cell phones, eyeglasses, and hearing aids. Please bring those with you to the Open House for recycling. After the Open House these items will be distributed to the appropriate organization for re-use. Several items were collected last year and the residents willingness to bring the items in was very much appreciated. We will also be accepting worn American flags that will be taken to an American Legion and/or V.F.W. for proper disposal.

We will also be accepting non-perishable food items to be distributed to local food pantries. These donations can be brought to the Open House, or brought to the 130 Arbor Avenue office during any regular business hours.
